5 Things I Love Now

5 things-july

1. Algenist Triple-Action Micropolish & Peel
1 word-microalgae. Some very intelligent dudes created Algenist at a company called Solazyme. They discovered alguronic acid and the way it protected the microalgae cell, helping it to survive in the harshest of environments. I learned all of this after I had been using this peel and loving it for months. I love this because it’s the fastest peel I own. It only takes 3-5 minutes, which is awesome for lazy butts like me. I put it on before my shower and then rinse off. It’s potent because of the alguronic, glycolic and fruit acids but not irritating. I like that it is manually exfoliating and chemically as well. Sephora gratis item. Click on product below to see more.

2. Sephora Acne-Fighting Roll-on Gel
Uh, well for starters, this is 12 bucks. But it’s 12 dollahs of effectiveness. I just needed something to put on spotty dotties to prevent them from becoming bigger dotties. I looked at a few similar products, but all contained the same amount of salicylic acid-2%. This works great. Does exactly what I need in a very efficient little roll-on delivery system. I have dry skin and this hasn’t irritated it a smidge! Sephora gratis item. Click on product below to see more.

3. Stila In the Know Palette
I’ve written about this before, but now that I’ve had a chance to use it, I can say it’s an awesome, wearable palette. It’s a perfect palette to create a wedding day eye, office-appropriate look or even a smoky eye. The shadows are silky and nicely-pigmented and blend nicely. Click on product below to see more.

4. Tarte Amazonian Clay Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick
This lipstick feels like a little stick of buttery butter butt on your lips! I am going to be real and tell you it in no way lasts 12 hours. Not even 8. But the colors are so unique and perfect, I can’t resist. I adore Whimsy for a bubblegummy pink, Bold for a perfect summery coral, Pure and Inspired for a pinky nude and Wild for a cherry red. Click on product below to see more.

5. Sephora Pro #57 Airbrush Concealer Brush
I’m kind of mental about this brush because it does so many things well. Here are some of those things: buffs liquid highlighter onto cheekbones, blends under eye concealer seamlessly, stipples cream foundation and concealer over blemishes and tattoos. Damn girl, slow down! Click on product below to see more.

Leaving an AHA on your skin for only 3-5 minutes isn’t really long enough to chemically exfoliate your skin. It would be a lot less expensive and more effective if you bought them separately because there is no science backing the ingredient the claim to be so special.

Hi Christina! Interesting! I didn’t know you could buy the ingredients separately. Thanks for reading and giving your input. I hope you’ll stop back sometime!

Are these skin products good for oily skin? I have terrible acne prone skin…ok not terrible but for being almost 21 it annoys me.. lol. But at the same time my skin is super dry because of all the acne treatments I try and what not. Thanks!
