Giveaway!

womenshealth-header

Knowing that there are children and adults who routinely go hungry makes me feel incredibly guilty, especially when many of us-definitely me, have any food, any time of the day, and often are eating too much of it. The Run 10 Feed 10 10K is the perfect way for those of us who are not going hungry to burn some calories and feed 10, yes 10 people in the process! The New York City Run 10 Feed 10 is September 22 with races in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, and Boston to follow.

Ok, now why am I talking about this on a makeup and beauty blog? Well, some of you may know, and others may not, but besides makeup, running has been a huge love and influence in my own life. Although I am not currently doing much of it, some of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had in life were because of running.
At this time last year, I was training for my first marathon. That experience was so emotional and monumental, start to finish. I can only imagine how much more awesome it would have been if I knew I was going to be feeding 10 people because of it. An event like Run 10 Feed 10 truly takes you out of your own head for a moment and puts you in someone else’s shoes.

I’m also telling you about this event because Women’s Health Magazine wants to give Wake Up for Makeup readers this awesome gift bag of Panasonic Beauty goodies! 3 words you guys: heated eyelash curler. Did you know a heated eyelash curler is actually safer and gentler on your lashes?! I just started using a heated eyelash curler and it’s awesome! It’s especially great for hard-to-curl-lashes!

So here is all you need to do to enter this giveaway:
Leave a comment below this post. Tell me in your comment, what your favorite childhood breakfast food?

The entry period will run Friday, September 13 through Friday, September 20, upon which 1 winner will be chosen via an automated random selection tool.
Only U.S. entries will be eligible.

My favorite childhood breakfast food would have to be waffles. I remember “helping” my mom make the batter and dumping the goodness into the waffle iron. The melted butter on top and a little bit of maple syrup. Yum.

My favorite was cake in a bowl of milk, of course! This was my “weekend dad”‘s favorite concoction and I loved it every single time. My mom on the other hand slaved in the kitchen for an hour or more once making Green Eggs and Ham for fun…and I wouldn’t eat them…because they were green…but it’s still a favorite breakfast memory 😉

My favorite breakfast food as a child was my fathers French toast. Each piece had just enough cinnamon sugar spread on top with whipped cream and a bit of syrup. It was perfection.

I grew up in the west of France, so my favorite breakfast was Crepes with nutella on it! My great-grandpa would bring them over. They were so fresh and yummy!

My favorite childhood breakfast food was corn bread. I was never a child who liked sweets so I ate all weird breakfasts.

I love breaskfast food but I also love sleep. Sleep always over ruled breakfast unless my momma made her french toast. Then you better believe my butt was up as soon as I smelled or heard her yell “auna, I made french toast.” Still to this day its my favorite and at 26 I still go over to her house to smash on some momma’s french toast!
