Skin is a funny thing. It can be just fine one week, a monster the next. Hormones, environmental elements like sun and pollution, stress and allergies can all change the way it behaves making it one big science experiment!
It can make or break your makeup application for sure. On days when my skin looks tired, dehydrated and pale, there’s no makeup in the world that can save it.
I noticed that my skin went from pretty good all summer to suddenly scary once Fall crept in. I wrote this piece for Pop Sugar Beauty on different oils I’ve had success with. Please go there to read about what I use and why!
To give you some background, I have dry to very dry skin. I have enlarged pores and blackheads on my nose, cheeks and chin. Oils are not just for Sahara desert faces though. Because your skin produces it’s own natural oils, it recognizes other oils and accepts them easily. Oils absorb quickly into your skin’s epidermis and many like coconut oil, have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, making them great for acne-prone skin.
