Eating Pickles and wearing Self Tanner in April
I mean, you guys, I don’t even know where to begin with this one. To quote my mom, “well, I’ve never!”
No seriously. WTF was this last month? I’ve had cries, I’ve had insomnia, I’ve had many moments where I suddenly caught a glimpse of myself from the outside looking in, in pajamas at 2PM, filthy ass hair, no makeup, eating sweet and sour pickles from the jar.

Like most, I didn’t wear a lot of makeup in the month of April. I only put makeup on for a virtual happy hour, a Zoom meeting and a few little videos for Instagram. If you’re wondering how to look good on those Zoom and Facetime calls, I made this video to show you how.
Ok, ok! Let’s please get into the actual April Favorites. This is all over the damn place, yeesh la weesh!

Bondi Sands Self Tanner
Like all beauty professionals right now, my spray tan artist is currently closed. I’ve been on the hunt for the best self tanner for a long time and have recently been enjoying products from Bondi Sands while I attempt to be tan from home for no reason at all. Read my best self tanner post HERE.
Even though it’s no longer winter, my skin is still dry. I like to apply a hydrating serum like before my moisturizer to give my skin an extra boost. Snow mushroom is a really cool ingredient because similar to hyaluronic acid, it helps your skin to attract and retain moisture. It can also potentially help reduce inflammation and discoloration.
We love an all in one around here. We are not product junkies when it comes to hair. Many moons ago, when I got my last haircut, the stylist recommended to do a myriad of things detangles, tames frizz, hydrates and preps for styling. What I love most about it is the scent. This is the Deep Waves scent that is just dark and dreamy.
Glo Skin Beauty Mineral Foundation
You heard it here first; Glo Skin Beauty is hella underrated. I’ve liked every product I’ve tried from the line and the Glo Skin Beauty Mineral Foundations are no exception.
Non-Beauty Favorites
Unorthodox
This short Netflix series is inspired by Deborah Feldman’s real life story, a Hasidic Jew who escaped the community. It was absolutely fascinating to learn about the Hasidic community and it was all just so beautifully shot. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
Little Fires Everywhere
This show surprised me. It explores race, motherhood, privilege, sexuality, sibling relationships and so much more.
The Last Dance
As a 36 year old, I was fortunate enough to experience the 90’s Bulls in real time. I got to see Michael Jordan play live. I am so very grateful for that and my family and I have sincerely enjoyed reminiscing fondly on what were truly the good ole days via this ESPN series.
Hopes & Dreams
Well. I sincerely hope that in next month’s favorites, I’m not telling you about how I laid on my yoga mat and just cried looking at nature listening to Billie Eilish.
I hope I can tell you that I fell asleep well before 3AM most nights, that i wasn’t repeating an endless app cycle of Instagram, Facebook, CNN, TikTok, back to Insta, CNN. Rinse and repeat.
I hope my husband and I are talking a little more about real life, and a little less about our pretend lives on Animal Crossing. But only a little less š
I hope that in May, my husband and I celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary at restaurant, but if it’s at home, that’s ok too.
