Glossier Super Pure Review
With a philosophy of ‘skin first, makeup second’, it’s no surprise that Glossier has been adding to their skincare offerings. There’s something new on the horizon from them but more on that later.đđ€«
For now, I’ll be telling you about one of the serums in their trio of supers. I picked up Glossier Super Pure in hopes of calming breakouts the week or two before my period. My decent skin usually gets an annoying break out around this time, typically on my jawline and the sides of my face.
My skin is too dry for most benzoyl peroxide products so I liked the idea of Glossier Super Pure to help with pores and congestion in a hopefully gentler way.
How I Use It
After cleansing my face, I put 4-6 drops in my hand and press onto my skin. It absorbs instantly. I then apply moisturizer. I use this at night 1-2 weeks before my period and during. In the summer, I will probably apply during the day too when my skin is more prone to pore congestion.
Ingredients
This is fairly simplistic in profile with redness-reducing niacinamide and pore clearing zinc PCA being the main actives. It does also contain honeysuckle extract for some extra soothing powers. No parabens, dyes or fragrance.
Results
I definitely notice less redness and inflammation of active blemishes. What this has been really great for is a scenario like the other night. Before bed, I did the stupid thing. I messed with a very minor, forming blemish. Of course it was red and inflamed thanks to me so I put the Super Pure on before bed. When I woke up the next morning, I cautiously peered into the mirror and to my delight, the spot was still there but it didn’t look irritated and like I’d messed with it. Yay! But seriously, why do we mess with our zits and just make them worse?! Ugh.
Do I recommend Glossier Super Pure?
Oh yeah. I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin and have experienced no drying or irritating effects. I previously tried another niacinamide product and saw no results at all so I was pleasantly surprised by this one!
What niacinamide serums are comparable?
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is the most similar and most affordable at that.
