Hello Fab Bendy Avocado Concealer Review

My first encounter with the brand First Aid Beauty was when I worked at Sephora back in the day. First Aid Beauty specializes in gentle skincare, especially suited to calming the most sensitive skin.

I’ve always loved their products and was intrigued when they entered the color category with the Hello Fab Bendy Avocado Concealer.

Once I found out that Emmy award-winning makeup artist Kevin James Bennett consulted with First Aid Beauty on this concealer, I was down to clown.
I also like avocados so my tastebuds were interested too.

I purchased the Hello Fab Bendy Avocado Concealer in Fair with my own money from Sephora. I primarily use concealer to brighten up under my eyes, nose and mouth and chin.

Key Ingredients

  • Avocado oil: hydrate
  • Caffeine: de-puff
  • Tremella mushroom extract: hydrate
  • Vitamin E: hydrate

Shade Range 8/10

I find the shade range moderate with 7 shades. To compare, Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer comes in 14 shades.

Being that this is a new product, I’m sure they’ll gauge how it does and expand from there.

I purchased Fair and for reference, I wear Light Warm in Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer, or NC20 in MAC.

I appreciate the extremely fair shade of Bone, though I don’t know how deep the darkest shade, Deep really is.

Pigment 7/10

This isn’t an opaque, full coverage concealer. I would describe it as medium but buildable.

Left: no concealer, Right: 1 layer Hello Fab, applied with a damp beauty sponge.

Formula 9/10

The texture is thin and easily blends. It could almost be described as watery, compared to others. I think this formula is the reason it looks believable on the skin and not like a heavy layer of makeup.

Wear 9/10

When set with powder, I didn’t experience any major creasing or fading. As with any concealer, you’ll get creasing if you apply too much.

Concealer before setting with powder

I also tried out the Hello Fab Bendy Avocado Concealer on a few dark blemish scars on my cheek. As you can see, the coverage is medium, but does not fully eradicate the dark spots.

Packaging 9/10

I think the doe-foot applicator is easy to use and probably the most common concealer packaging format. I would prefer a squeeze tube to allow one to squeeze every last drop out but otherwise, no issues with the packaging.

Value 9/10

I think $22 is a great value for a quality concealer with great ingredients and formula.

What I liked

  • Hydrating formula
  • Minimal creasing
  • Easily blended with fingers, brush or damp sponge
  • Good, moderate price point
  • Clean ingredients

What I didn’t

  • Not full coverage
  • Easy to over-apply due to fluid texture

Do I recommend the Hello Fab Bendy Concealer?

Yes. If you have mild to moderate dark circles to cover, you’ll find this to be a very natural looking concealer that doesn’t look heavy or makeupy on the skin, making it ideal for everyday wear.
