Allure Beauty Blogger Awards

grid-shot

Today Allure Magazine announced their 10 finalists in the Allure Beauty Blogger Awards and holy crap, one of them is me! Meeeeee! I can’t express to you how good it feels. It validates the many, many coffee-fuled nights I stayed up late working on posts or figuring out things in WordPress, the time I spent working in retail at Sephora, learning everything I could but sacrificing my nights, weekends and holidays to do so. It validates the research, the experimenting and the drawers of products!

When I caught the tail end of the contest last year, cheering on Cara Brook from Maskcara, I started an Evernote Blog Goals list. I put at the top of the list “Enter the Allure Beauty Blogger Contest. And make it.” I can’t believe I can cross that one off!
I am so tremendously honored you guys. If I could mail little hugs to you all, I would!

Myself and 9 other talented, beautiful bloggers will participate in 5 weekly challenges which you can view and vote on beginning Monday, April 14th! We will be judged by the editors at Allure, celebrity guest judges, and YOU! Each week, there are some crazy good prizes for voting. I really want one of you to win one!

I could never thank you enough for sticking with me. It’s going to be an amazing month and I can’t wait to share the experience with you all! xoxo

Congrats!!! I am very happy for you!! I have only started following your blog not too long ago due to a coworker telling me about your blog. (she personally knows you) You deserve this and this just inspires me to do the best I can do on my blog so I can too one day get this off my list.

  5. Thrive Causemetics Tutorial with Jessie - Wake Up For Makeup

[…] Today’s post is not about me but my friend Jessie and Thrive Causemetics. I first met Jessie in 2008. My husband and I moved into our first house together and she and her husband lived next door. Over the next 4 years, I would get to know her as an incredible mother, wife, and friend. You might remember Jessie’s gorgeous face from my makeover challenge during the Allure Beauty Blogger Awards. […]
