LimeLife Enduring Lip Colors

Since hooking up with LimeLife by Alcone, I’m slowly working my way through their product line, giving you honest, real-deal reviews as I go. LimeLife Enduring Lip Colors are essentially liquid lipsticks. They are available in 11 shades, of which I own 10 as you’ll see below. All but one color, Wedding Cake, are matte and they have a pleasant, sweet scent. They aim to provide opaque, high pigment color with long wear. They retail for $20 each.

Creme Brulee This is likely the most popular, user-friendly shade. It’s a non-threatening, warm pink that makes a lovely everyday or bridal shade. It’s also an ideal one to mix with other colors too.

MacaroonI don’t really do nude lips as it washes me out so this is my go-to type of nude. I would describe it as a mauve/nude, flattering on most skin tones. I wore it for a photoshoot recently because it gives my lips enough color but isn’t distracting when paired with a more dramatic eye.

Cake PopI had to have this color as soon as I saw it. If you know me, you know that purple is my favorite lip color of all and I feel most myself wearing it. The formula seems to be the most opaque and most matte. I love the color and it looks beautiful with green eyes.

Angel Food Cake This is a muted coral shade that is truly in the orange color family. Angel Food Cake looks good on yellow undertones but could be iffy on pink undertones or deeper skin. I noticed this shade requires 2 layers for full opacity, unlike the others. I’ve heard it’s great for mixing with Creme Brulee.

Cupcake is a warm, true hot pink. I feel like it says girl’s night out, bachelorette party, boozy brunch. It always makes me smile and gives me a pep in my step. The formula can show uneven application so make sure to apply in a thin, even layer.

Salted Caramel isn’t amazing on my skin tone, but I don’t hate it either because I’ve always liked brown lip colors. As the name says, it’s a warm caramel color that I think would be much lovelier on medium to deep skin tones. I like mixing this shade with Creme Brûlée above to create a more browny/pinky/nude.

Candy Apple is the vivid, orangey, yellow-based red that I’ll be grabbing a ton in the summer. Only fellow yellow undertone folk are probably going to love it but if you are, you will, and I do.

Cherry Pie is thee red. It is a blue-based, classic, retro red that seems to wear longer than the other shades too. I really love it and I think it’s maybe the best of the whole bunch. If you have blue or green eyes, this is killer.

Wedding Cake is one of the most user-friendly shades as it has some shimmer and is not as opaque as the other shades. Mother of the brides tend to love this color. You may need to use 2 thin layers if you like more color.

Sugar Plum is a vampy, purple plum that is on the deep side for fair to light skin tones. The formula tends to show opacity more when unevenly applied so make sure to work in very thin layers.

PROS

• Non-drying
• Flattering shades from bridal pink to deep purple
• Can be mixed to create custom shades
• Can layer lipgloss or other lipsticks on top
• Moderate price point

CONS

• Not super duper long-wearing
• Some shades seem more opaque than others therefore show uneven application
• Some shades don’t dry down as fully as other liquid lipsticks. You can tell by the slight sheen on my lower lip in the photos.

Do I recommend the LimeLife Enduring Lip Colors?
Yes. If you like liquid lipsticks, but find most of them too drying, you’ll like these. I often top mine with gloss because I just don’t like the feeling of any liquid lipstick. If you want super long-wearing, these may not fit the bill but I will tell you because I’ve tested many; those that wear a long time, feel very dry on the lips. Those that feel great don’t last all day. Can’t win ’em all!
