Anastasia Brow Wiz vs. NYX Micro Brow
I once did an all drugstore tutorial, with one major exception. I simply refused to use a drugstore brow product because at the time, I truly didn’t believe there was one that did the job even half as well as Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. Every other brow pencil I tried would either be too soft, too hard, and in most cases, the color was never right. For my coloring, I need an ash brown, nothing golden or reddish in the slightest. Well friends, I may have just found your Brow Wiz drugstore dupe. At less than half the price, NYX Micro Brow is a nearly identical dupe.
The 3 P’s
Packaging Identical. Spoolies may vary slightly in shape but function the same. Plastic casing on both that is the exact same size with the exact same product tip size as well.
Price Anastasia’s Brow Wiz retails for $21, a hefty price when you seem to go through them quickly like I do. NYX Micro Brow Pencil is less than half of that at $9.99.
Pigment This is the only discernible area of difference that I can detect. The NYX Micro Brow color Ash Brown looks warmer when swatched but when applied to the brow, I don’t think anyone could tell it wasn’t Brow Wiz in Medium Brown.
Wear NYX Micro Brow did not appear to wear any less time than Brow Wiz.
Consistency Both pencils have a firmer consistency than any other brow pencil I’ve tried, with Micro Brow being possibly a bit firmer still. However, it is not so brittle that I’ve had any issues with it breaking off.
Conclusion If you don’t mind a slight color difference, go ahead and save yourself a tenner and get the NYX Micro Brow instead of Anastasia Brow Wiz.

09/21/2015 at 5:41 PMI just picked this up this weekend! I agree on the dupe status. Here’s my dilemma: blonde is waaaaay too warm on me. It looks orange! I’m wondering if Ulta will let me exchange for a different shade. Maybe taupe?

09/21/2015 at 5:42 PMThat’s often the problem I see with brow products marked Blonde. I would totally go with Taupe for you. And yes-ULTA will let you exchange!

09/22/2015 at 3:55 AMis it waterproof? I am looking for a waterproof brow pencil for my mom, she actually likes the one I have from etude house, but it’s not waterproof. I told her to pick brow gel or brow pomade because they’re totally budgeproof, but she doesn’t like the hassle of using brush either :/

09/22/2015 at 11:45 AMI don’t think it’s considered waterproof but the staying power is good. I have to agree with you that pomades like the Anastasia Dipbrow or MUFE Aqua Brow are what you want for the most budgeproof brows!

09/22/2015 at 11:42 AMI hear you girl! I think I’ll add some to my kit as well! I primarily use Dipbrow on brides since it’s waterproof but I love the precision of pencils too!
