Beauty for Breast Cancer

“And are you doing your self exams?” As women, we hear this question at every annual lady appointment. It is a question we should be answering ‘yes’ to each and every time. I resolve to confidently answer yes and I hope you will too. We cannot afford to neglect early detection of breast cancer, knowing that 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer in in her lifetime. This year, about 40,000 women will die from breast cancer, with only lung cancer accounting for more cancer deaths in women.

Breast cancer education and research is what we need. Not pink washing. One company that has taken more impressive strides than any other in this mission is Estee Lauder, who has raised more than $53 million. Evelyn Lauder actually founded the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in 1992 and created the now-universal pink ribbon.
