Darlings, as Charlotte would say, are you on the perpetual hunt for the perfect nude? Do you love super pretty packaging and smooth and lovely textures? You may have been looking for . Read on to know for sure.
I purchased these 4 Charlotte Tilbury with my pro artists discount. I chose shades that would be flattering for my clients, and possibly myself.
, and are the Matte Revolution formula while is the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula.
The Shades
- : Often described as the perfect, your lips but better, pinky nude.
- : A truly peachy nude with a satin sheen. No pink here.
- : A mid-tone peachy nude, inspired by my favorite supermodel of all time, Cindy Crawford.
- : A deep nude with a mauve hint. I would say this is a deeper version of Pillowtalk.
Formulas
Matte Revolution
I really dig this formula because while it is matte, it’s not drying or flat and feels totally great on. This is what a matte formula should be.
K.I.S.S.I.N.G.
I would describe this as a satin finish, a bit of sheen but not glossy. I never thought I’d prefer a matte formula but I do like Matte Revolution better than this.
Standout Shades
really is that “your lips but better” color that looks good on most light to medium skin tones.
I personally find to my perfect nude with it’s more peach vs. pink shift. I’m also obsessed with Cindy Crawford though, so that’s just me.
Wear Time
The Matte Revolution formula lasts longer than K.I.S.S.I.N.G. as it’s less emollient. It doesn’t last as long as a liquid lipstick, no way, but it doesn’t transfer badly or wear away quickly either. I’d say it’s just right really.
Pro Tips
If you find too peachy, try what I did the other day on a photoshoot. I lined the model’s lip with a more nude lip liner, filled in the sides, and then just used more in the center. It made this beautiful, fall cinnamon shade.
If is too pink for you, try for the perfect peachy nude.
If is too light or subtle for you, try .
If you have seriously dry lips, you may prefer the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula but the Matte Revolution formula is far less drying than most of the matte lipsticks I’ve tried.
Overall Feelings
I think the come in beautiful shades and formulas that feel high end. Since they are more of a luxury price point, $34, I think they are perfect for weddings and special occasions.
