Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers Mascara

Covergirl is back at it again with the The Super Sizer Fibers Mascara. They still want to super size your lashes, but this time, WIF FIBERS! Based on my experience with the original Super Sizer Mascara, I was hella hesitant. However, I never met a mascara I didn’t want to at least try so off we go! Show me whatcha got fibers.

Last year, Covergirl unveiled The Super Sizer Mascara. I had an unpleasant experience with it and even included it in my Worst Products of 2015. This new incarnation of The Super Sizer made me nervous with it’s inclusion of fibers. It’s predecessor already dumped way too much product onto lashes, creating thick, spidery, clumped-together sticks. However, because I had a surprisingly non terrible experience with another fiber lash mascara, I tried to keep an open mind in trying it out.wand-2

Packaging  4/10 The tube is rather thick and sports an 80’s color combination of teal and purple. The wand is the same “lash styler” as the original Super Sizer, a slim plastic brush with very short spikes. I find the lack of length or fibers to be problematic as the mascara has nothing but a flat piece of plastic to rest on and then dump onto to your poor lashes.

Pigment 8/10 I tried the color Very Black which was indeed a nice, rich black.

Texture/Formula
5/10 The formula itself does not seem overly thick or goopy. The fibers are undetectable and comfortable on. The formula doesn’t layer well though, similar to the original. 2 coats will start to veer into spider territory.

Wear 9/10 I have dry skin but didn’t find this to smudge or run at all in 95 degree temperatures. I did experiencing some stinging when I washed it off at night.

Value x/10 This is a $7 mascara and performs like a $5 mascara. Spend a few more bucks at the drugstore and spring for either Maybelline’s The Falsies or pretty much anything from L’oreal.

Speaking of drugstore mascara, I love me some Voluminous, but that shiz flakes all over and gives me raccoon eyes by the end of the day. I’m willing to pay for something better. What’s your favorite higher end mascara for volumizing? I’m using Roller Lash right now and I’m just kind of “meh” about it. I still need to use a curler, so it kind of defeats the purpose.

My favorite high end mascaras are definitely Benefit’s They’re Real (wasn’t ever all that impressed with Roller Lash) and Laura Gellar GlamLash which I’ve reviewed before. Have you tried either of those?

Looks better than that Susan Posnick mascara ….. your natural eyelashes are already pretty long. This looks pretty good imo after about 3 coats for $5 (got it off Ebay) and I naturally have super short lashes.

I see what you’re saying in this pic! Dude-I’m so picky with mascara. I am super stoked to hear it works for you though! That’s a great deal too 🙂
