DIY: Eye Makeup Remover
I discovered this recipe on almighty Pinterest. I have to say-I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it out! Not only was it simple to make, it is very effective at removing eye makeup, smells nice and costs far less than buying eye makeup remover. You only need 3 widely-available ingredients to make a batch of makeup-removing goodness that will cost you very little and totally delivers. I promise.
Eye Makeup Remover
- 1 cup water
- 1/8 teaspoon olive oil.
I’ve used more in the past, like 1/4 teaspoon, and learned that less is more.
Stick with 1/8 teaspoon and you’re good to go! - 1 1/2 tablespoons baby shampoo-any brand.
As you can see, I’m using some super generic kind. You could certainly branch out and use some of the fancier ones!
1.) Add the olive oil and baby shampoo to your water and stir.
2.) Use a small funnel to pour into your chosen container. Travel shampoo bottles work well or even an empty bottle from your previous eye makeup remover.
3.) You will want to shake it up before each use as the old saying goes about oil and water not mixing 😉
As with all eye makeup removers, allow the soaked cotton pad to sit on your eye for a few seconds before wiping the makeup away.
