February Favorites: BHA + Binging on Chickpeas

These favorites posts are as close to a diary as it gets for me. Looking back at my calendar, in the month of February, I did makeup for the ill-fated Iowa Caucus, my husband turned 37, I worked on several commercial projects, filmed a video in TJMaxx on my IGTV and I tried a bunch of new skincare. The usual.

February was good, I think, but to be honest, I barely remember it. Here’s what I do remember using/eating/watching last month.

I start my period this week and haven’t had a single hormonal breakout yet. I’m convinced that is due to my faithful application of and the product below in tandem. My skin has done well with Niacinamide in the past and continues to stay happy with it. I just finished a bottle and another is on the way. That’s how you know good and that’s how it makes the favorites posts! Oh, and did I mention it’s only $5.90?!!!

I’ve spent so much time using AHA toners and serums that I almost forgot about the wonders of BHA! This has, without a doubt, kept my sporadic breakouts at bay. I’ve also received some unsolicited skin compliments that I didn’t see coming so I’m sticking with this.

I’m into simple, single shadow looks right now and a cream shadow stick makes those a breeze. I apply a generous amount at the lash line then using a small domed brush, blend it upwards and outwards in tiny circular motions. The color Amber Haze is so pretty on blue or green eyes and it’s all I’ve really needed lately.

Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation

This isn’t a new foundation but one I’d never tried until recently. As someone who is dry and wants full coverage, a stick/cream foundation like this is ideal. When I wear it, I look like I have beautiful skin, not just beautiful makeup. I love the coverage, the finish, the shade range. I wear the shade Linen.

Wearing and in this pic. Can you spot William eating his food?

Non-Beauty Favorites

The Goop Lab

Goop can be cringe-inducing, so I didn’t expect to enjoy this series, but I did. It made me look at things a different way, and that’s always a good thing. Of course I loved the anti-aging episode (I really want facial acupuncture now), but I equally enjoyed the episode on the use of psychedelics in therapeutic settings and the cold therapy one.

Just a heads up-the episode about female pleasure is graphic and if you have a large flat screen in your living room as we do, there will be a vagina on the whole screen at one point. Don’t worry; no other episode is like that, and if it makes you feel weird, just skip ep 3.

Hippeas Chickpea Puffs Vegan White Cheddar

I’ll be very vulnerable for a moment here and let you know that I singlehandedly consumed an entire bag of these by myself while watching Netflix the other night. Shame aside, they are delicious, light and dangerous. You’ve been forewarned.
