What I Love Now
We’re almost ready to bid adeiu to June! That’s crazy talk. It’s been busy as butts for me, but fun too of course. I went to a music festival, attended a wine tasting event and did tons of makeup for very lovely people.
1. LUSH Big Blue Bath Bomb
My sweet husband bought me a bunch of bath bombs and this was one I’d not tried previously. Well, let me tell you-NEW FAVE. For one-it makes the bathtub water blue and fills it with pieces of seaweed so you basically transform into a real life mermaid. It smells wonderful-definitely of lavender, but of something else I can’t pinpoint? I actually did feel more relaxed and my skin smelled so good after. No residue, no dryness.
2. L’Oreal Silkissime Liner in Gold
I’d been looking for a gold pencil liner to use in my waterline and bought this on a recent Target trip where I blacked out and bought a bunch of makeup when my original intent was just groceries. However, despite my inability to stay on task at Target, I LOVE this! At first glance, it looks like it could be too bronze, not gold, but once applied, it’s perfect. A yellow-gold is not flattering on me so I love that this has a hint of richness to it. Place it in your waterline for an edgy update to your regular look!
3. Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me
Can’t believe how long it’s taken me to get on the BL bandwagon! I love how easy and imprecise to apply they are and the Cherry Me shade is the perfect Popsicle-mouth for summer! It’s so easy to quickly apply Baby Lips on the go, no mirror required!
4. C9 by Champion High Support Sports Bras
Hello, this is a makeup blog so why are you telling us about bras?! Well, because sometimes I get so excited about a new find, so thankful to have found it, that I simply must share! This is one of those things. No worries-I will never be a style or fitness blogger, me promises. When I saw these at Target, at buy 1 get one 50% off no less, I thought, “those look suspiciously like my $50+ running bras!” I was feeling risky that day so I grabbed 2 and didn’t even try them on. Well, I’m thrilled to tell you that I like these even BETTER than my Moving Comfort Juno bra. This bra is comfortable, comes in sizes like 34DD which is just amazing to find, supports very well and the price is fantastic. I am definitely stocking up on more while they’re still buy 1, get one half off which breaks down to about $17.21 each. When I find an affordable sports bra in 34DD that is comfortable, well it’s like the angels have descended upon my boobs.
5. Murad Acne Clearing Solution
I’m really glad Murad sent this to me when they did. It’s like they knew my skin was going to get borderline hideous with the temperatures rising. For the most part, my skin is decent. I have breakouts during that of month, and persistent blackheads but it’s nothing I can’t cover. Lately though, I feel like it’s been a bumpy ride, lit-ur-uh-lee. I didn’t have an anti-acne serum on hand for those times and this has been great. It’s gentle enough, with just .50% salicylic acid to keep breakouts at bay. When I recently went out of town for the weekend, I used this every night, knowing my sleep would be off and I would be outside and sweating more. It totally kept my skin under control and even spots that hinted at becoming zits calmed their asses down.
6. SAM SMITH
Ok no, it’s not makeup either. And it’s in all caps because that’s how I feel about him. It’s not sam smith but instead…SAM.SMITH. I have to say that in all my 30 years, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a voice so beautiful. I have been playing nearly every Sam Smith song out there nonstop and let’s not even discuss the “How Will I Know” cover. I mean…come on. Nobody else even try. If you want to hear something beautiful, or you need a song for your wedding, a good cry, or some amazing ballads to just attack in your car alone, here you are.

06/25/2014 at 1:41 PMI hope that when we move again I will want to take baths. Our tub is so ridiculously small that it just hasn’t happened! Targets sports bras are unbeatable and you already know how I feel about Mr. Smith. AMAZING.

06/25/2014 at 1:55 PMOh man. I just had to gush about some non-makeup stuff this week because I was just too jazzed up! I am finding that a lot of people don’t even HAVE bath tubs anymore!

06/25/2014 at 2:03 PMOk so I love the lining the waterline look but for the life of my can not find a product to stay put. Does this exist? Or if I want think look so I just need to understand touch ups will be required?

06/25/2014 at 2:14 PMHi Annie! The wear of this Silkissime really surprised me! In the most non-weird sounding way I can explain this, the waterline is wet tissue so fading is natural to some degree. Other liners I’ve had good luck with in the waterline though are Stila Stay All Day, Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes and Loreal Voluminous Smoldering liner.
