Mardi Gras Makeup Mask

Happy Fat Tuesday! Ok, so let’s be real. I don’t even know what Mardi Gras is about or why it started. I know it has something to do with beads and New Orleans. And when I think New Orleans, I definitely think of those beignet things. I’ve never had any, but I think I’d be pretty into them.

Anywho, a friend suggested some local makeup artists create a Mardi Gras-inspired look. I loved the idea so I created a Mardi Gras makeup mask. I’ve never done a mask look so I just messed around and made it up as I went along. I really enjoyed doing it and it made me realize just how much I truly love the process.

I used a multitude of products to create this looks, namely Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper (one of the best liquid liners. I’ve used it in several of my special effects looks), NYX Cosmetics and BH Cosmetics shadows, NYX glitters, LORAC 3D Liquid Lustre, Eye Rock black rhinestones and Sephora glitter liners.
