May Favorites
May is my favorite month because spring is my favorite season. Everything comes to life, especially baby animals. May is my wedding anniversary month and the official start of wedding season in my freelance makeup artist life.
My May beauty favorites are makeup heavy, just the way we like it around here. More makeup, less Prednisone for the severe allergic reaction I had this month. Story for another day, cuties. Here’s what I’ve been loving in the month of May.
Current Favorite Lip Combo
I love bold lips but on the other end of the spectrum, I don’t not love a pretty nude pink lip. Ya know, for those bridal lewks and for first date situations. Both of which I’ve known nothing about for over a decade because ya girl been wifed up since May 30, 2009, ayyyye!
+ Clove + Hallow Lip Glaze Angelic
Anyways, I line and fill in with the and then top with the Clove + Hallow Lip Glaze Angelic and my lips look bigger but natural.
Great new mascara alert!
Thanks to my friend Jackie/friendly Target beauty consultant, I have a new fave drugstore ! Ever since CoverGirl got their shit together went cruelty free, I’ve been revisiting the brand. I love the separation and length gives and there are no flakes or smudge what-so-freaking-ever.
I’m not surprised is legit because I always did love the original Lash Blast. This is part of that line so has that spike brush like the original.
Good brows, fast!
The best way I can describe this product is Glossier Boy Brow on steroids. I still love Boy Brow for a natural brow but is perfect for a fast brow that still looks totally filled in.
Just a tip, go one shade lighter than you typically wear if you aren’t a bold brow fan. I have Ash Brown, because that’s what I wear in the other ABH products, and it feels a tad dark.
Current car lip
Glossier Play Vinylic Lip in Pony
Ok, if I haven’t told you before, a “car lip” is what I call the lip product that current resides in my car, and is the one I grab and apply whilst driving to appointments, without looking, because it’s that easy and it just always works. Glossier Play Vinylic Lip in Pony is such product at the moment. The color is hard to describe but I’m pretty sure it would look good on just about anyone.
Awesome budget buy
How is it that is only $10, but is also so great? I don’t know, but don’t question it; just add to your next Sephora order.
The texture is thinner, so great for daytime wear under makeup. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t interfere with concealer. I also love a squeeze tube vs. a jar for any skin care product, but especially eye cream. Keep it clean, kween.
Non Beauty Favorites
Watching
Refinery29 is killing it lately with some seriously thought-provoking videos on their YouTube channel. Their recent videos on mica, beauty for the homeless, skin bleaching and wearing makeup in North Korea have been especially eye opening.
Living in
This is the most extravagant and personal item on the list, and also the best thing that’s ever happened to me, aside from my husband and our 2 cats. For our 10th wedding anniversary, my husband got me the egg chair I’d been loving and posing in for months at Target. If you’ve been doing the same, and wondering if it’s all that comfortable, just know that I basically live in it now, so send for my things.
