Pixi Beauty Mists
Outside of this space on the internet, I’m a working makeup artist and since wedding season and prom season have both kicked off, I’m getting busier everyday. If I could mist on my entire skincare routine in just seconds, I would. But wait…
Pixi Beauty recently sent me 4 of their mists and though I’ve loved two of them for a while now, two I hadn’t yet tried! Let’s break them down together and I’ll tell you what is what, shall we?
Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist I loved the juicy orange scent of this straight away. I eat about 6 clementine oranges a day lately so no surprise there. Out of all the Pixi mists, this one is the most delicious smelling. I love the idea of waking up with a facial mist but sadly, this leaves my face feeling sticky and isn’t conducive to makeup application. I find the stickiness icky vs. hydrating. Key ingredients: orange blossom, citrus extract
Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist It’s a tie between this and the Glow Mist for my fave but I think this has pulled ahead. It really is like applying a moisturizer via mist. I like to spray it throughout the day to stay hydrated. I wouldn’t consider it a setting spray by any means but more of a skincare product. I have talked about it before here. Key ingredients: hyaluronic acid, black oat
Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist I was excited to try this as I just ran out of my setting spray. My excitement quickly turned to gagging as this is a rose-scented product. I am in the minority but I absolutely hate rose scent and as a result, don’t want to use this. The makeup setting properties were average and I didn’t notice better performance than others I’ve tried. Key ingredients: rose water, green tea
Pixi Glow Mist As a member of the dry skin of America club, I love using this to set my makeup for a dewy finish, add hydration and take away any powdery look. I’ve talked about the Pixi Glow Mist in this blog post. Key ingredients: Argan oil propolis
Overall Thoughts
For me, the Pixi Beauty Mists are 2 for 4, with my old favorites Milky Mist and Glow Mist the reigning champions. I still want to try the Pixi Sun Mist with summer on the way!
