TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipsticks

You might recall from a previous post that liquid lipsticks are everywhere right now. TheBalm recently sent me their take on them, Meet Matt(e) Hughes, and I’m stoked to tell you my thoughts!

These long-wearing lipsticks are available in 8 different on-trend colors and retail for $17 each. They have a delicious scent they describe as vanilla mint and that I describe as Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie.

Pigment 9/10: Like most liquid lipsticks, there is instant color pay-off. You do need to swipe a few times to build up to the color in the tube but it’s no biggie.

Texture 9/10: These apply a bit thinner than some liquid lipsticks, which I actually really like. It makes it easier to control and distribute. The feeling is quite comfortable with only a very slight dry feeling compared to many matte lipsticks.

Wear 8/10: I would estimate the wear to be about 6 hours with normal behavior. The wear isn’t like that of some liquid lipsticks where you need to forcibly remove them and it’s borderline scary. The wear definitely exceeds traditional lipsticks with no need to touch up.

Value 10/10: This is one of the best liquid lipsticks below $20. I love that TheBalm makes paraben-free, cruelty-free products at very affordable products! In my opinion, $17 is a steal for these.
