Reviewing Thrive Causemetics feel good line of makeup products

I can’t do a Thrive Causemetics review without mentioning their famous Liquid Lash Extensions mascara. Admittedly, I didn’t like this mascara back when I tried it. See the original post HERE.

However, the success of a mascara largely depends on what you’re starting with lash-wise, and what you expect out of it. It wasn’t successful for me, but I know others absolutely love it.

I love the mission of Thrive Causemetics though and I’m a huge fan of their bronzer, so I wanted to try more of their product offerings. I had credit in my account so I used it to grab a bunch of things I hadn’t tried to do a more comprehensive Thrive Causemetics review for you.

Buildable Blur CC Cream

I’m a foundation person, through and through. I don’t typically get down with tinted moisturizer and more sheer options. However, this has been the best lightweight coverage option I’ve found. I love that it has and SPF of 35, more than sheer coverage and a dewy, but not shimmery finish.

Despite being available in an impressive 18 shades (unheard of in the BB/CC cream category) I don’t have a totally perfect match. I basically need the shade Light to have a warm, yellow undertone, vs. neutral. Light Medium has the right undertone but is a tad dark. I’ve been using Light on the majority of my face and Light Medium on the forehead.

The undertone sitch would be my only criticism because otherwise, this is an awesome CC cream and I definitely recommend it.

Brilliant Eye Brightener

I tried this in the shade Stella. It’s fine, but very subtle, at least on my skin tone. It would need to be lighter to make more impact on me, but for medium skin tones, it would likely have more brightening power.

I like it for brightening the waterline, but it’s still quite subtle there.

Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner

If you like retractable liners that are easy to smudge but not too slippery (for lack of a better word), you’ll be into this. I especially like it for tight lining. I’ve used it on a talent for shoots as well and I like how it’s not as messy as some of the softer kohl liners. I recommend this.

Infinity Waterproof Eyebrow Liner

I’m not able to get this to stick to the skin very well, at least when I’ve tried using the lightest color on clients. I think there are better brow pencils to be had really.

Glossy Lip Hydrating Serum

I love this colored gloss. I put it in my kit because when time is not on my side, working on set or with large wedding parties, I need a way to get color, hydration and shine on lips and quickly. The color JoAnn is perfect. It’s a blue-based shade that makes teeth look white and is bold without being goth or bright.

I highly recommend the Thrive Glossy Lip Hydrating Serum and will be purchasing additional colors for my kit now.

Infinity Waterproof Lash Adhesive

I’ll get right to the point. I used this lash glue on a client, it didn’t work, I threw it away. Once dry, the lash began lifting, so I re-glued to corners and yet it still wouldn’t hold. It has high reviews but for me, I can’t count on it to hold a lash for a client so into the trash it went.

Overall Thoughts

I really love a lot of Thrive Causemetics products. There were only a few that I really didn’t love and even so, they weren’t bad products by any means. You can feel good about purchasing from Thrive Causemetics and I hope this review has been helpful.

I went off the deep end on thrive after getting sucked into the influencer, Kackie, on YouTube. I’m definitely going to have to grab that lip serum! I have the liquid balm (it’s clear) and am really liking it. I agree that the eye brighteners are meh (I got Stella and whatever the rose gold one is). I also have a love hate relationship with the mascara-the tubing is great for removal-I hate raccoon eyes. I mostly find myself reaching for their brow gel and liquid balm. I am not a fan of the sunscreen scent of the cc but the coverage is nice. One thing I was really turned off by was the moisturizer it’s SO greasy and the moisture flash toner smells like fish oil. Their face serum is okay but I would definitely pick glossier future dew over it everyday. The skincare was a bust for me, but I’m hoping to find more products I love because I also love their mission.
    Thanks for the info!

Hi Kim! Your comment was so helpful because I’ve been wanting to try both their brow gel and liquid balm next! I am also really glad you weighed in on the skincare products, as I haven’t tried those yet either. Thank you for reading and commenting!

[…] I apply the Thrive Causemetics CC Cream with my fingers to achieve 3 things at once: SPF, hydration and coverage. For being a CC cream, it has great coverage actually. See my original review here. […]
