Worst Products I Tried in 2019

I both do and I do not like telling you about products that I dislike. I like it because it’s my sincerest hope that I save you money. I don’t like it because I truly do love and respect so many brands and want to see them do well.

That being said, I tried these 5 products in 2019 and was majorly bummed by all of them. Some were just real yikes. Check it out.

I sincerely love so many Kevyn Aucoin products (, , ) so I was super bummed to have this fail me. I think my main complaint is the texture. The way it sat on my skin truly made my skin look worse, particularly in the pores region. I tried over-hydrating to prep my skin for the drier texture and just couldn’t get it to work, no matter what I did. There are many beautiful cream foundations, but this just isn’t one of them.😢 

I threw in this lip balm in a Sephora order spur of the moment and regretted it as soon as I smelled it. I have no idea how it moisturizes lips because the scent was so offensive that I never even put it on. The best way I can describe it is gas station bathroom air freshener and I couldn’t overlook it.🤮 

I absolutely love the concept of an SPF cream shadow but the execution on this fell so flat for me. Similar to the Kevyn Aucoin Foundation Balm, it was the formula that was most problematic. It has a whipped texture that does not layer well, applies chunky and unevenly. I tried it with my fingers and various brushes and had to given up and return it in the end. I’d love to see an iteration more like in tube packaging.

I got a deluxe sample of this, and thank the lord for that because I got a horrible reaction from the synthetic fragrance it contains. Everywhere I applied it, my skin was red and itchy and I was so miserable that I wanted to unzip my skin and step out of it. I was able to shower it off but I’ll never touch it again.😫

Glossier Brow Flick

I know; I know! I feel like a lot of people love this, but it just wasn’t for me and I can explain. I feel like you’re going to struggle with this. Even when I store it upside down as advised, it either doesn’t flow out much at all or too much comes out. The color Brown isn’t completely great on me and the way it lays on my skin weird too. But Glossier Boy Brow? So good! Stick with that.
