REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask Review

If the word “calm” in the title totally piqued your interest, you must be mega-stressed too!
Your skin doesn’t always have your back and is often the first to show your lack of sleep, stress levels, hormone surges and reactions to environmental changes and irritants.

Rude.

When REN sent me their new Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask, I was so thankful because my skin has been acting like a total weirdo lately. It was in a good place and then it got all mad from washing my face at my mom’s house one night with bar soap instead of my usual cleanser. It’s like it’s jealous.

I already have dry skin and lately it’s been extra dry, a little patch of eczema popped up on the side of my nose and it sometimes feels itchy. I tried a coconut sheet mask the other night that was supposed to be “soothing” and it actually burned so much I had to take it off after 30 seconds. So, that’s where we’re at.
The REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask is a 10 minute mask that is thick and rich in texture. It hydrates the skin with ingredients like shea butter, jojoba and coconut and soothes with the help of white mushroom extract, arnica, Roman chamomile, beta gluten and a yeast compound that actually has antihistamine effects.

Unlike some “soothing masks” that can still irritate sensitive skin, this one truly does what it says. I imagine it would be perfect for a day when you’ve spent too much time in the sun or wind. Or you know, when you stay the night at your mom’s house and wash your face with the “wrong” soap just one freaking time.

When I rinsed it off, my skin felt soft and calm and it left no stickiness or greasiness behind.

I have used REN products before and I love the brand so I wasn’t surprised to find that their Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask was awesome. REN products are vegan and cruelty free and contain no synthetic fragrance, petrochemicals, sulfates, silicones, synthetic colors or parabens.

Happy masking!

[…] REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask I complain about my dry skin a lot here so I’m sure you’re well aware by now. Because it’s so dry, any irritation or abrasion causes it to get red, itchy and inflamed. This is the only mask I’ve tried that truly calms it down in these times without one bit of stinging. I reviewed it here. […]
