Sensitive Skin Helpers

If you’ve been blessed with easily-irritated, perpetually pissed off, sensitive skin, these 8 skin soothers will be your bae baes. My skin is somewhat sensitive, occasionally developing random hives for no good reason. Though I do not have rosacea or eczema, I definitely have to take ‘er easy at times and these products are soothing superstars. sensitive-skin-soothers 1. Korres Yoghurt Cooling Gel  / 2. LATHER Cucumber & Ginseng Facial Mist / 3. Beautyblender / 4. Murad Hydrating Toner / 5. Root Beauty Sleep Skin Perfecting Serum / 6. First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum / 7. EcoTools Konjac Facial Sponge / 8. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask

Something I’ve found to be very helpful when it comes to sensitive skin is minimizing abrasion. Even makeup brushes can micro-exfoliate and rough up the skin to the point of irritation. Irritation causes inflammation, aka hives, rashes, breakouts and the like. When my skin is especially irritable, I like to apply my foundation with a beautyblender vs. a foundation brush. I like to apply toners via spray vs. cotton pads. I utilize cooling gels and soothing mists to prime my skin. When it’s acting especially stupid, this oatmeal mask is a godsend. For the times when you’ve given in and itched your skin into oblivion or picked at it, this facial oil is a super-healing wonder. My skin is always better in the morning.

When it comes to makeup, avoid the following ingredients to minimize the risk of a flare up. This article I wrote for Divine Caroline will give you more details.

  • Artificial dyes and colorants, listed as FD&C or D&C followed by a series of number
  • The word fragrance
  • Bismuth oxychloride

I hope this helps my sensitive skin friends! Thank you for reading.
