Best Beauty Products 2017

Reflecting back on 2017, I think we can all agree it was rough around the edges.

Ok, let’s be honest; it was rough on the inside too. But even on the worst days, there were beauty products. Lots of them! For many of us, beauty products are the best escape. In a year filled with so much utter nonsense, thank freakin’ goodness for full coverage foundations, silly sheet masks and glitter liners. That’s why I’m bringing you the best beauty products I tried in 2017.

best beauty products e.l.f. Workout Ready Lip and Cheek Palette
This totally caught me off guard. I didn’t expect this to be one of the best beauty products of 2017. I didn’t expect the creams to be so easy to blend, to be such flattering colors and the selection to all be so wearable. I reached for this a ton from the moment I got it and it’s still my go-to, no-time, easy makeup solution. Original review here.

Fenty Beauty Foundation
It seems the crowd is split on this but I maintain that this was the best new foundation I tried this year. The coverage is awesome, the shade 130 is probably one of the best color matches I’ve found and the wear time is awesome. I have dry skin but I just hydrate really well prior to applying and don’t have to set with powder because it’s self setting. It doesn’t look too dry or matte and I just really enjoy it. I will say, I love it when applied with a damp beauty sponge so if you haven’t had good luck in the past, try it that way before you write it off. Original review here.

Sunday Riley Good Genes
I got into AHA products more this year but this was by far the best one I tried. I noticed brighter skin after just one use. I’ve been using it consistently for a little over a month now and there’s no turning back. The most significant change I’ve observed is smaller, less congested pores. I apply this at night, after my Luna Sleeping Oil, and follow with moisturizer. This set is a great way to try both. Original review here.

Verb Ghost Oil
It’s been a long time since a hair product wowed me. This changed that. When I apply to damp hair before blow drying, it leaves my hair with a weightless shine that can only be compared to a sheet of glass. It does what most serums couldn’t do before-it smoothes and defrizzes without adding a heavy, dirty feeling. It smells awesome too.

Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil
This was a classic example of “don’t knock it, ’til ya try it. I typically hate anything rose scented. Somehow, the scent doesn’t bother me in this and it quickly became my favorite cleansing oil. I look forward to using it every night and it’s so gentle but effective. It doesn’t leave any residue when wiped off with a warm washcloth and just leaves my skin feeling hydrated and comfy.
Glossier Cloud Paint
I love cream blushes, but these are even better than that. These are basically watercolors for your cheeks, but also lids and lips! Dusk and Beam are my favorite shades to mix or wear solo. If you’re fair, try Puff and deeper skin tones are gorgeous in Haze. Use my link to save 10% too.

I hope that you’re ready to bid adieu to 2017 and start anew in 2018. I know I am. I’ll be here as always, testing trying and reporting back on beauty products. Let me know if there is anything in particular you’d like to know about in 2018. What’s on your radar?
