Fall Trend: Navy Smoky Eye

I try to keep it real and be as honest as possible. So, I’m about to tell you something very very controversial.

I don’t exactly love fall. OMG, I know. I know! But I have my reasons! It always signaled the return to school after a fun summer, so I think part of my reasoning is very deep-rooted. It starts getting dark earlier and that’s just bound to bum anyone’s flow.
I also really hate the smell of burning leaves and a lot of that seems to go on. I am not a football fan either so all the tailgating just makes me feel like a small alien and I’m like, “yeah, how ’bout them….teams!?”

Anyways, before you guys just click off this page all together and rule me a hideous fall-hating monster, there are a few key components to fall that I do really enjoy:

1. Pumpkin Spice Lattes (holla at me if you love dem PSL’s!)
2. NYFW. I would never claim to be the most fashionable girl but I have loved watching runway shows since I was very little. I remember when we got the Style Network and I would stay up until 2 a.m. in the summer and watch runway shows that ran from 2 to 4 a.m. I also love seeing new makeup concepts in the shows of course.
3. New album releases. A lot of bands put out new albums starting in September so I make a comprehensive list of all the dates. I’m so freaking stoked for new Grouplove, Matt & Kim, Kaskade, Glitch Mob, Gemini Club!

Now, for the makeup!
I am seeing a lot of exciting fall makeup trends on both the runway and in the brand campaigns. I was particularly inspired by NARS Fall 2013 imagery, namely the gorgeous navy smoky eye. I have always loved navy in general and it’s such a fresh, modern but still dramatic color for eyes.
If you have brown eyes, consider yourself blessed because not only can you wear any shadow color but navy looks especially gorg on you! Your brown eyes are warm on the color spectrum, where navy is a cool color therefore the contrast is stunning.
My eye color could best be described as “dirty green.” Jealous of you brown eyed babes.
