GLOSSYBOX Review
Subscription boxes are nothing new but this one is extra glossy and flossy. If you’re like me, you pretty much only care about the beauty products in a sub box. If so, GLOSSYBOX and you are gonna get along reeeaaal nice. GLOSSYBOX sends you 5 full-size, luxury beauty products a month for $21, putting it in the middle price point as far as subscription boxes go. Birchbox clocks in at $10/month, POPSUGAR Must Have Box at $40. There is a product in every category, spanning makeup, nails, hair, skincare and fragrance. Bada bing, bada boom.
Proganix Volume Root Boost Finish + Body Builder, full size, $11.99 value
I have long, thick hair and volume is always a wish. I used this on damp hair, and then blow-dried as directed. I did notice amped-up volume, but it left my hair feeling a tad dry, which is odd as I have oily hair. The volume didn’t seem to be long-lasting either but that could be my heavy hair to blame?
Sesha Botanical Hydro Mask, full size, $9.00 value
This is one of those infused fabric masks you lay on your face. I liked the feel of it, but the sides lifted up a lot. It says not to rinse aftewards but it left my face feeling super sticky! My face was soft the next morning and I didn’t experience any breakouts, but I just did not dig that sticky icky icky!
Tarte Power Pigment in Flush, full size, $24.00 value
I knew I would love this because I already enjoy the similar Tarte Lipsurgence tints.. This lip product is thinner than the Lipsurgence tints and true to the name, more pigmented. The finish is only slightly glossy and it applies smooth with a refreshing minty scent. The packing is darling too! The scent I got, Flush, is a raspberry shade and might be a bit bright for some. Me? Psh. This is red for babies.
Vince Camuto Amore Eau de Parfum, purse size
I’m not a fragrance conneseuir. I’ve worn Chanel Chance most of my life, Chanel Allure before that! Let’s just say I’m not known for switching it up in that category. That being said, I love the bottle of this mini perfume, even though the lid doesn’t stay on for me whatsoever. Not sure what’s up there. The scent is sweet, fruity and youthful to me. I like this on my perfume vanity tray better than on, but it’s certainly not offensive. It’s just a little too Juicy Couture-esque for this 30 year old.
Nails Inc. Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat, full size, $10.00 value
When the matte nail trend emerged, I was not on board. I couldn’t see the appeal of having dull, chalkboard-like nails. However, based on some of the cool manicures on Pinterest that incorporate both matte and glossy finishes, I am coming around. I really like that you can take existing nail colors that you already own and love and shift them to matte with just a topcoat. I want to try a textural french manicure with a matte nail bed and glossy tips!
Packaging: 10/10. I like that it feels like a real gift. The packaging is attractive, sturdy and re-usable.
Value: 9/10. This particular box was worth over $75, at my best estimate. I have to estimate since the value of the mini fragrance was not given. For $21 a month, this was worth it for the Tarte product alone. I didn’t mention the $40 Hello Fresh card because it’s really just credit towards something you have to pay for anyways. Also, it wasn’t beauty product.
Do I recommend? Yes! I’ve tried Birchbox and the POPSUGAR Must Have Box and this has been one my favorites yet! I love that it’s beauty-focused and that they give you a product in every category! Somethin’ for errybody!
Click here to order and get a FREE Malin+Goetz Lip Balm with Purchase and earn $3.00 cashback if you do Shop At Home! I think this would be such a freaking great gift to give/get! For $60, you could get someone 3-months of GLOSSYBOX and they would definitely love you forever, and thank you 3 times! Not to be cheesy, but it’s literally the gift that keeps on giving!
