Recent Empties
When a beauty blogger/makeup artist uses a product to the very last drop you know it’s good. I am trying, on average, up to 10 new products at a time. When I keep coming back to something, again and again, enough to generate empties, that’s a very good sign. Here are my recent empties, and why they got to that point.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist
I have dry skin as it is, but this winter? Jesus take the wheel. With temps of below 0, a scary humidity level of 12% in our house at times and add in being sick over the holidays and blowing my nose like it was my full-time job, my skin was upset. So I started spraying this on before my skincare products, before makeup and after each time I blew my nose. It moisturized my skin without me even having to touch it and I loved that. It has a proven hydrator in hyaluronic acid and soothing black oat.
LimeLight by Alcone Signature Lipgloss in Grace
This was my “car lipgloss” because that’s where it lived. It was so easy to just swipe on quickly in the car to look a little polished but still low key. The color Grace is a semi-sheer, semi-shimmery peachy pink. I wasn’t sure if I loved these glosses when I first tried them, but uh, apparently I did?! They really aren’t the slightest bit sticky which is a big plus.
Pixi Large Lash Mascara
I have found my favorite cruelty free, drugstore mascara. The brush style reminds me of one of my favorite mascaras ever and people really have asked if my lashes are real when I wear it. It never clumps and just builds full, lush lashes. I mean, what else could I want?
Sunday Riley Good Genes
You can read my full love letter to Good Genes here but simply put, what I’ve noticed in improvement in after using for over a month are: reduced pore size, more even tone, lightened dark spots and post blemish marks and an overall glow. It’s expensive but truly worth it as I see visible change even after just one night of use.
LimeLight by Alcone Quench Cleanse
This is the most gentle cleanser I’ve tried for dry, semi-sensitive skin. It cleanses and removes makeup without leaving my face feeling tight and dry. It’s also super clean in that it’s paraben free, cruelty free, contains no synthetic fragrances or dyes, no phthalates or SLS. I reviewed it in depth here.
