TheBalm Cosmetics Review
While I’m so tempted to make a joke about these products being TheBalm dot com, I’m going to resist, forge ahead and just tell you in normal adult terms how great they are. Sigh.
I’ve been a long-time fan of TheBalm, having used their timeBalm concealer and lipgloss years ago. I then graduated to their Bahama Mama Bronzer Shadow & Contour Powder (used here) and Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Shadow & Shimmer. These are all amazing products at affordable prices and now I’m going to add a few more to the recommendations list! Sorry to your wallet. Sorry to your debit card. Sorry to your husband/boyfriend! If you hate reading, you might like my video review better.
Thanks to LoxaBeauty, I got to try the following and I’m stoked as hell. It’s not often that I love every.single.item a company sends me. There’s usually hits and misses and this is basically an Anjunabeats album because it’s all hits. I’m so glad to know LoxaBeauty sells TheBalm because it’s not sold a ton of places and the older I get, well, the more online shopping I do. My items came packed in a cute little turquoise box too and not just thrown in a box, which I see Sephora is guilty of lately!
Meet Matt(e) Nude Eyeshadow Palette, $42
This is an excellent palette of 9 all matte shadows. Several shades are warm, several cool, but all wearable neutrals. I love the matte life and the matte life loves me. These are great pan sizes, full of wonderfully-pigmented, beautifully-blending shadows, all named after different Matts. This reminds me of the Bachelor for some reason, which just started back up. I normally wouldn’t even mention something so ridiculous but this season’s bachelor is from my home state, Iowa! I’m one of those who truly believes Midwest is best. I love it here. It’s not all pigs and corn. I don’t even eat meat. There are lots of peaceful fields and open spaces, and dreamy sunsets, and cows. But there are also zombie-themed restaurants, art galleries, concerts, outdoor festivals-somethin for everyone. Anyways! This palette is amazing, I’m not going to watch The Bachelor, but he’s from Iowa and I hope he represents us well. Don’t worry-he won’t.
Stainiac Lip & Cheek Stain, $17
Lip stains are pretty great because they look so natural-like you just ate a cherry popsicle in the summer, or like you’re an indian maiden who just rubbed some berries on her lips. They also last much longer than lipsticks and glosses! While I’ve enjoyed stains like Benetint and felt tip pens style ones, I find fault in their application method and packaging. That’s where Stainiac comes in! The doe-foot applicator makes is so easy to apply and throw in your purse. The color is so pretty and natural and it’s the perfect texture for a cocktail party where you don’t need sticky gloss or lip print on your glass.
Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Shadow & Shimmer, $24
It’s one of my holy-grail highlighters for a reason! It’s champagne hue looks good on everyone, it’s shimmery enough to look BAM-sexy but it’s not glittery. The only thing I don’t love is how easily it shatters. I’ve broken 2 and I’m not proud of it! For pale, pink-undertones, check out Cindy-Lou Manizer and for deeper skintones, the bronze Betty-Lou Manizer.
InStain Long-Wearing Powder Stain in Houndstooth, $22
I chose this color with the hunch that it would look good on a lot of people. I was right! It’s just that perfect dusty rose/mauve that looks so “winter-cheeks”. Know what I mean? “I just came in from a brisk walk” cheeks. These aren’t “Ivy just returned from a 5 mile run” cheeks cuz that it ish is not attractive. I love the pigment and texture of this blush, it’s a big pan size, and though the pan flipped out of it’s packaging, I will be throwing this in my Z Palette anyways because I can’t wait to use it on clients. Gorg.
If any of these products sound too juicy to ignore, I’ve got some LoxaBeauty discount codes for you! Make sure you use them to save a little monies!
