Volition Beauty Review

Volition Beauty is a beauty company with a unique approach, unlike any other. Their clean skincare products are dreamt up directly by the consumer.

Here’s how it works. Say you have an idea for a serum. You submit your idea and if it’s passes, it’s voted on by a beauty community. If your idea is chosen, Volition Beauty makes your product, bringing your idea to life.

If you’re looking for clean skincare products, at moderate price points, you’ll want to keep reading.

Volition Beauty sent the following products for review purposes. I didn’t receive financial compensation for this post but it does contain affiliate links.

Screen Time Hydra-Mist

Now that we have to worry about blue light damage from our devices, a mist like this is an enjoyable way to refresh your skin at your computer and give yourself a little extra protection while you’re at it. The nozzle itself is really unique. One press disperses in a fine mist and it almost feels like aerosol, but isn’t. The scent is sort of green and herbal, which I prefer to anything floral.

Must have or nice to have?

Nice to have. I don’t know how necessary blue light mists are just yet, and while I like this, I have several other face mists in my skincare fridge I like just as well right now.

Celery Green Cream

Let me be perfectly clear; I hate celery. I hate the taste, I hate the smell, I don’t want it in my green juice or my bloody mary. However, in partnership with Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin, Volition Beauty has managed to create a celery product I actually enjoy using! It smells more like cucumber than anything, the texture is a heavenly, cooling gel and it feels hydrating like a tall glass of water, never heavy.

Must have or nice to have?

Must have, especially for combo/oily skin that is dehydrated. It feels nice, hydrates, feels luxurious to use. All good things. This is my summer moisturizer for sure.

Snow Mushroom Water Serum

Snow mushrooms are pretty damn cool, you guys. They can hold 500x their weight in water, making them an amazing hydrator in this serum, in addition to the marine water, watermelon and apple extract, argan oil, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate.

Must have or nice to have?

Must have. I love that it has no scent, absorbs readily and hydrates fully. The texture lays nicely on the skin with no pilling and other products can be layered on top, no prob.

Prismatic Luminizing Shield

If I’m going to apply sunscreen, and I always am, I want some fringe benefits along with it. I want some glow, a little radiance under my makeup. Volition Beauty’s Prismatic Luminizing Shield does just that in a lightweight formula with SPF 50 protection.

Must have or nice to have?

Must have. This basically serves as a luminous primer with SPF. So far, it’s the SPF I reach for most when I’m wearing makeup.

Strawberry-C Serum

You know from the name that this contain strawberry extract but it also has vitamin C-rich kakadu plum and hydrating hyaluronic acid.

Strangely, after water, the most prominent ingredient is cucumber extract followed by radish root, before strawberry. As for the vitamin C, it uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, a nice stable version, but it’s listed 10th in the ingredient list so I do question how effective this is as a vitamin c serum.

Must have or nice to have?

Nice to have. In terms of vitamin C serums, there are more powerful ones out there for sure, but this is hydrating nonetheless.

I hope this Volition Beauty review was helpful and thanks so much for reading it!
