As a makeup artist/beauty blogger, 90% of the time, my client is the one asking me for recommendations. Sometimes a magical thing happens though and they recommend something amazing to me. Such was the case with the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip. A client texted me a photo of this lip product, excited they’d found something that stayed and didn’t feel dry and crackly on. I made a mental note to try these but never did.
Much to my delight, Pixi sent me an absolutely beautiful fairytale-esque book of products, including 5 shades of the MatteLast Liquid Lips. The universe really delivers sometimes. So, was my client right? Are these awesome? You know the drill. Read on.
The Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip claims to be “extremely long wearing & comfortable” yet also hydrating via rosehip oil. I purposely tried these out on days where I’d be eating, drinking, talking and not able to touch up my lips.
So, I have to tell you; I have this theory about liquid lipsticks. The ones that last a long time feel dry and tight on the lips and the ones that feel nice and hydrating don’t last. Well. Color me possibly wrong because I’m happy to report that the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip products not only lasted far longer than I ever expected but felt great on!
They applied smoothly and set quickly. Once set, there was no transferring, featuring or bleeding. I didn’t want to slather on lip balm as I often do with other liquid lipsticks. I attended an event where I was eating and drinking and only had to touch up minimally in the center of my lips after about 3 hours of stuffing my face.
Pastel Petal A cooler toned, pinky nude.
Matte Beige No pink or pink shift, a true nude.
Au Naturelle True peach.
Really Rose My favorite in the bunch. A nice mid-tone, berry rose.
Evening Rose A deep, moody mauve that is perfect for evening, as the name says.
