Best Beauty Products of 2018

As we bid adieu to 2018, it’s fun to reflect on aaall the beauty products I used this year. My Instagram serves as a visual diary for the makeup, hair products and skincare I tried and when I scroll through, I see just how many things I tried! Whew!

I think I get tougher on products every year and I hope that you save money because of it. Time to get into the best beauty products of 2018!

Eyeshadow

This is one of the best quality, versatile and wearable “drugstore” palettes I’ve ever tried. I never get tired of it, it’s flattering and easy to work with. I was really impressed by all of the collabs in this collection but this was the best by far. The full review is HERE

This is a petite, simple and fuss-free travel palette. I took on a few trips this year, using it to create simple looks quickly and easily. Because it’s all matte, it’s flattering for anyone but especially mature skin with texture concerns. Review of the big sister, Urban Decay Heat is HERE

For me, this eyeshadow was a triumphant celebration of why we love Urban Decay palettes. It’s so fully comprehensive that you could create any eye look with it and the shadows are great quality and easy to work with. Full review HERE

Foundation

The coverage and finish of this foundation are right on for me. It looks and feels like a high end product that should cost far more than $13. The only drawback for me is the shade range, typical in the drugstore category.

When I’m tan, MW2 is perfect but when I’m not, LW2 is too pink. Even though they are both categorized as warm undertones, LW2 isn’t as yellow as MW2. I tried mixing but ultimately, I just need a lighter shade of MW2. Nevertheless, I still love it and I included this foundation in my favorites HERE

Lip Color

If you need a liquid lipstick and you’re at Target, this is the one you want. Not only is there a range of flattering shades but the formula feels really nice, yet true to it’s name, really lasts. Review and swatches HERE

Mascara

True to it’s name, this gives me full, fat lashes, but not clumpy or overly thick either. I really love this mascara and the only drawback I can find is that it’s not smudge proof so oily types likely won’t be a big fan.

The brush didn’t look like it was going to deliver but it sure does. I feel like my lashes are the longest and fullest they can be with this, so much that people have questioned whether or not they are real. The only caveat with his one is the cost of course. I included this in my favorites HERE

Skincare

Cody of Harmony
Without a doubt, it was the year of CBD for me, and the beauty industry in general. With it’s impressive anti-inflammatory properties, it soothes sensitive skin, calms redness and irritation and just makes my skin happy in general.

The only Code of Harmony product that I can’t say is a must-have is the oil cleanser but that’s because I already prefer others. My full review is HERE

I am so glad I discovered this, thanks to makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes, because it’s been a lifesaver for my very dry skin. I love to apply this overnight for a sleeping mask and on my elbows and heels to transform them from alligator to baby. Full review is HERE

So, hey pals. Thank you so much for hanging out with me in 2018.
I hope you know how much that means to me. You’re the difference between me talking to myself about makeup and talking to a group of like-minded beauty lovers, so bless you lots.
