It’s interesting to think about what differentiates a Fall makeup look from a summer one, or any other season. I think it has to do with using textures and colors that evoke a cozy feeling, mimicking the warmth of nature’s colors in the tones you choose. Maybe our Fall look, is adapting to our surroundings, blending in and becoming one with it. I swear; I’m sober right now. I’m just getting all in my fall feelings.
Fall makes me think of textures like velvet and suede, colors like gold, cranberry and burnt orange. It makes me think of scents like cardamom, allspice, clove and campfire.
So, how does that translate to fall makeup, in a way that’s still pretty?
I used all Kevyn Aucoin products for this fall makeup look. I purchased all of them with my own money, using my pro artist discount. I’ll tell you why I love these products and what makes them ideal for a fall makeup look.
When we start running the heat and the outside air gets a chill, most of us inevitably experience more dry skin.
Hydration & Glow
That’s why I love a complexion evening producing like the Stripped Nude Skin Tint 02-Light. It adds moisture, some coverage, but not so much that it feels like it will “crack” in the cold.
The weather can be dry, and the leaves may be crunchy, but I don’t want my face looking that way. So, I used a dewy highlighter, the Glass Glow Liquid Highlighter.
Coverage where needed
I still need good coverage on my melasma so I used the full coverage Sensual Skin Enhancer in Sx04 there.
You might find your dark circles are worse if you suffer from seasonal allergies. To brighten my under eyes, I used one of my very favorite concealers, The Etherealist Super Natural Concealer in EC01.
If you’re like me, in the summer, when I have a bit of a tan and I’m more active, I often feel I look better than I do in Fall/Winter.
I love using a contouring product like Kevyn Aucoin’s Sculpting Powder in Medium to give my face more dimension and an instant confidence boost.
If you want to try this product, the most affordable way to do so is to get the Sculpting Powder and Celestial Powder Duo. The highlighter in this is so subtle, natural and flattering.
Fall Eye Makeup
To create this eye look, I used the eyeshadows from one of the best KA purchases you could possibly make, The Contour Book 2.0. If you can find this palette, get it. You will not regret it. I guess the vibe for the eye look would be a fireside glow.
I skipped liner and just applied the Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara. This is a tubing mascara so great for people who find their mascara tends to smudge.
Fall Lip Color
Most people gravitate to deeper lip colors for Fall. I didn’t want to do anything too vampy or oxblood, but instead, something more cranberry.
Then I applied one of my favorite mid-tone rose lip colors, the Kevyn Aucoin Molten Matte Lipstick in the shade Dolly.
I hope this blog post and tutorial give you some fall makeup inspiration and a few new Kevyn Aucoin products to get on your radar. Thank you for reading!
