Emerald Pantone Color of the Year

Pantone, the worldwide color authority, has partnered with Sephora for the second year in a row to release a limited edition collection. Pantone releases a color report each year, giving guidance to the art, fashion, design and other creative industries, and proclaims a color to be the “color of the year.” The color of 2013 is emerald green.

Last year, Sephora released their first partnership with Pantone, the exclusive Sephora + Pantone Universe collection featuring 2012’s color, Tangerine. The collection contained eyeshadows, lip colors, lashes, makeup brushes and palettes. This year they’ve done it again and the results are exciting and fresh! I think the emerald palette is actually more wearable and friendly to the average consumer. The shadow trio palettes have some good neutral options to pair with your emerald green accent and the polishes would look great on anyone.

The emerald green is a fresh welcome to spring and I’ve already seen references in spring fashions. I especially like it paired with a navy, or as Pantone calls it, Mykonos Blue 🙂 I’ve been to Mykonos, so now I like that color even more!
