TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Palette
I’ve been lawfully wedded to my husband 8 years now. If I wasn’t married to Jake, maybe I’d be married to ? I mean, I don’t know. I’m not a psychic medium.
When BeautyBridge first sent me this , I was selfishly only in love with it for myself. But as they say, if you really love something, you have to set it free. So I decided to add it to my freelance kit and share it with the world. I’ve been using it a lot lately and…you guys. I think this might be the perfect matte palette?! It’s the most comprehensive offering of shades and I can’t think of what it could possibly be missing.
I’ve reviewed the first incarnation, , and I really love it too, but there are some gaps in the shade range
Throwing Shade
- Matt Lin: cream color for lids and brow bone
- Matt Thomas: true pastel pink, very bridal.
- Matt Rossi: purple-toned taupe
- Matt Lopez: go-to crease/transition shade, peachy brown
- Matt Kumar: true berry burgundy. It could be too red for some.
- Matt Moskowitz: deep plum that for some reason, I use the least.
- Matt Evans: great cooler-toned crease color.
- Matt Reed: rich, plummy espresso shade
- Matt Ahmed: mid-intensity black, not the richest ever.
If I have any criticisms at all, I just wish Matt Reed was more of a true deep brown with no purple undertone. It looks pretty on everyone, especially at the outer corner and lash line, but sometimes I just want an espresso brown with no shift.
Also, I love so many of theBalm’s products and though I may be in the minority, I find their branding cringey and even sexist at times. I would honestly love to see a complete rebrand. theBalm makes high quality, high performance products that deserve chicer packaging.

Do I recommend this?
Definitely. The pan sizes are generous, the colors are flattering, the shades are comprehensive. You can do soft and natural looks or smoky eyes. I’ll say it again; theBalm is underrated y’all.
