Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection
I’ve said it before; I think Urban Decay is actually releasing too many palettes.
In the last year alone, we saw the release of at least 5, not including the .
I enjoyed many, not all, and I always prefer quality over quantity.
That being said, something about the Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette/ feels fresh and different. The vibe of the collection, the energy of the launch; it was fun again.
For heaven’s sakes, Urban Decay sent me the Naked Cherry housed inside a giant cherry!!
Plus, anytime relevant emojis exist for your product name, you’re doing good.🍒🍒🍒
The Naked Cherry includes:
- A 12 shade
- 3 new
- 2
- Cherry scented version of
Packaging
The packaging design is awesome. I love the transparent cherry photos, the color palette and overall juicy feel.
It’s cool, not juvenile, but still evokes that childhood thrill of Shirley Temples packed with Maraschino cherries.
The has a hard acrylic outside casing, a mirror and included brush as always.
The is a cardboard palette with a mirror and a tri-color single pan.
The are the original bullet-casing like packaging but with extra special cherries on the lid.
The are the same packaging as the great original.
The is a travel size with a black cherry design and gold metallic lettering
Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette
About the palette
- 12 shadows: 7 mattes, 5 shimmers
- Double-Need brush, one pencil brush end, one crease brush
- $49, available at Sephora, Ulta, Urban Decay
Standout Shades
These shade are either just my favorites or ones that I feel are unique and unlike what I currently own.
- Feelz
I love this in the crease - Juicy
I also love this for a crease color, especially for blue or green eyes - Bing
This is a purple-ish mauve that I like as a crease color, or a lid color too. - Turn On
This looks like it’s going to be a champagne gold but it also has a rose gold shift to it. I love it as a lid color.
Urban Decay Naked Cherry Vice Lipsticks
From left to right: Cherry, Devilish, Juicy
Top to Bottom: Juicy, Devilish, Cherry
Juicy
I thought I would hate this. I don’t! It’s a pretty, almost holographic peachy nude. I thought it was going to be like the ugliest Urban Decay Vice Lipstick shade, Gubby and it’s not at all.
Devilish
This reminds me a lot of Ready? from the Born to Run collection. Like it, it’s a metallized finish with considerable metallic particles.
Cherry
This is my favorite. It’s exactly what you’d want in a rich, black cherry lip color
in Love Drug and Black Market
Love Drug is a true red wine shade with a slight metallic finish. It would be pretty on green eyes.
Black Market is what I would describe as a soft black. I prefer Perversion, their blackest black.
Urban Decay Naked Cherry Highlight & Blush Palette
About the Highlight & Blush Palette
- 3 shades: champagne highlighter, matte rose blush, semi-holographic, icy lavender highlight
- $34
I was excited about this because the blush shade is exactly what I gravitate to- a matte, mid-tone rose.
This is a shade I find looks so good on so many. The champagne highlight looks like such an ideal shade as well.
That being said, I was disappointed by this. The texture feels hard and I had to really work my brush into these shades, especially the blush, to get any sort of payoff. I wonder if the tri-color pan has something to do with this?
Sadly, I would skip this.
I love the original All Nighter because it just works. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
More like, if it ain’t broke, don’t make it smell like cherry cough syrup.
Unfortunately, for someone like me who is hyper-picky about scents, this smells more medicinal than fruity to me. It still sets makeup great like the original, but I’ll just stick to the unscented version.
Do I recommend the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection?
- Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette Yes
- No
- Cherry for sure.
- Yes
- Cherry All Nighter Setting Spray No. Stick to the original.
Here’s a tutorial I filmed using the collection if you’d like to see how I used the different shadows and liners.
