November Favorites: Dewy highlights + mattresses

How have we reached the second to last monthly favorites of 2019? It seems that it was only yesterday that I was praising in my January Favorites. I truly don’t know how we got here so fast, yet here we are, my November favorites.

I’ve often said that if a liquid lipstick lasts forever, it feels terrible and if it feels nice on, it probably doesn’t last that long. Somehow, defies this logic.

The shade Dolly is my new fave for brightening up the whole face, wearing super well and feeling great while it does.

I really believe that the days of ultra-bright highlighter are numbered. Instead, I’m enjoying a natural, shimmer-free highlight, what looks like natural radiance at sunset. does exactly that. I pat on the tops of my cheekbones, above my brows and Cupid’s bow and you’d never know I didn’t actually have glassy, reflective skin.

Twinmedix Rosewater Toner*

You may not be familiar with the brand Twinmedix now, but I feel like you’ll be hearing about it more and more. The line is a pro favorite that I first discovered via The Makeup Show.

I’ve been trying several products from their new Pro:Refine line and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried.

I know this rose water toner is legit because I don’t like rose water! It’s a refreshing way to hydrate, refresh, prep skin for skincare or makeup and I look forward to using it.

This is ironic as I’ve either been not powdering my face at all or just setting my under eye with it. However, when I do, I’ve been using and really like it. I have Classic Translucent and find that it sets without looking too dry or chalky.

Non-Beauty Favorites

Sleeping on: Purple Mattress

It was getting downright shameful how badly we needed a new mattress. I had back pain for the first time, I never felt rested, there was a definite sinkhole in the center of our Simmons Beautyrest from 2009. My husband and I are both self-employed people with non-traditional schedules and to be honest, I just could not be bothered to spend an entire day, laying on mattresses with salespeople.

So I did what any elder millennial would do and started to research the myriad of online mattress companies. I looked into Casper, Nectar, Leesa and Tuft & Needle. I watched YouTube videos, read blog posts, asked my chiropractor. What I landed on was the Purple Hybrid Premier with 3″ grid.

My husband and I both agree that the Purple is a night and day difference from our old mattress. I definitely feel like I’m fully supported and I’ve been sleeping in positions I couldn’t previously because it was too uncomfortable.

If you end up wanting one, this link will save you $75.

Wearing: Stars Above Chenille Lounge Shirt

My husband got me this as an early birthday gift on November 24th. It is currently November 29th and I’ve still not washed it because I don’t want to stop wearing it to do so. Also because I’m a disgusting bag of garbage. If that’s not convincing enough, I don’t know what is.

Watching: Broken: Makeup Mayhem

If you wear makeup, you need to watch this. The entire docuseries is very well done but the first episode focuses on counterfeit makeup and how dangerous products enter the US market.
